“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The scandal of it had been there right from the beginning; the promise to Abram that God would bless all nations because of what God was going to do. So it should not have been a surprise when Jesus said, “Love your enemies.” Why? Because God loved them first. Right from the start, God’s intentions were to love and care for everybody. God’s love is a powerful thing; its power to pursue, its faithfulness to find, and its desire to cling to the hope of a better day—there is nothing more powerful than God’s love.
